While 'surfing' through some of our American stitching friends blogs I came across an annoucement that Teresa Wentzler has retired from designing. I have in recent months purchased 'The Mermaid' through ebay and have suggested to my eldest daughter who 'claimed' it the minute she saw it, that I would stitch it for her fortieth birthday - which gives me nine years and six months. Someone from another site suggested that I would need every minute of that time. At the rate I stitch she is probably closer to the truth than she imagined...
I have created a 'WIP' (work-in-progress) sidebar. I am hoping that this will act as a constant reminder and that it might inspire me to actually get these things completed. I won't call them UFO's - but as a 'true' artist (tongue in cheek here!!) I will have a work(s) in progress...

Sharon, what an excellent idea - a list of your WIPs on your blog! It would be even better if they were links, and we could click on each one to have a look at how much progress you are making. Now, having seen your UFO stack, you are not being completely honest...are you? I was sure you had more than that last time we went through your stash! But maybe I am confusing them with your SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch, to those who are wondering!)
MIL said to me today that she hoped I would finish my Indian Chief before she dies, and I said "Wouldn't you rather that I finish your tablecloth?" and she said "No, I would rather see the Indian finished". I suspect her beloved son has been in her ear...he knows that her asking me will have more effect than his nagging me!
Gina, I think that stack you are referring to are my 'in reserve' stash - they are just in case I finish stitching what I am currently stitching at the time and I need something to go on with :)
I have already thought about the link idea - I am not sure at this stage what I might do... But for now I am just going to post them (photos) here under a 'WIP' heading...
Re Indian - what about we take them to the stitching group once a fortnight - at least that way something will be done... S
